Lookup and calculator inputs

City and ZIP lookups and capacity calculations run in your browser. Our analytics events do not include the text you enter, your hardness reading, household details or full query strings.

Optional location lookup

If you select “Use my location” and grant browser permission, we send the coordinates through our server to EPA's ArcGIS service to find possible water suppliers. The location is used for that request and is not included in our analytics events. EPA and its service provider handle requests under their own policies. You can use the city lookup without granting location permission.

Usage measurement and server logs

We record events such as a completed lookup or a product-link click, the page path, the type of result or product, and the time. This first-party measurement does not set an analytics cookie and respects the browser's Do Not Track setting. Our hosting provider may maintain normal request logs, which can include IP addresses and browser information. Analytics retention depends on the hosting log settings.

Manufacturers, retailers and data providers have their own privacy policies. Affiliate links may include referral identifiers, and the destination may use cookies to attribute a purchase. Check the destination's policy before providing personal information.
